Sometimes I get an idea for a story and I have no idea where it might be published, because it’s an oddity. I read a lot of short fiction magazines because I enjoy it, but also so that I can get to know their vibe and what they publish. In this case, I was at a loss.
My stoy is about Arthur Machen, father to H.P. Lovecraft and grandfather to Stephen King. It’s about the overlap between fiction and magic and tarot, and it came to me in a fever. When it was accepted by Weird Horror, I knew that was exactly where it should be.
I hope you read it. You can get a copy here. There’s another story in this issue about tarot, and original illustrations that will spook you. Drop me a comment and tell me what you think!
