Weird horror is some of my favorite stuff, both to read and to write. The creep and the cool of it always go right through me, and I read so much horror that I think I’m hard to goose. I’m pleased to share that one of my stories will be included in this October 2024 collection of weird horror flash, and with such a cool cover! Artwork by Samir Sirk Morató.
Editors Avra Margariti and Eugenia Triantafyllou put this one together with the FFO staff. This is an all-horror double issue of flash stories, which means each one is a whole world in less than a thousand words. If you want a story short enough to read on a bathroom break, but weird enough to unsettle you all day, this is a perfect collection of short, strange delights.
My own offering takes place in one of my favorite locations in the word: a bath tub. But I’m joined by all these other talented folks:
- “Within the Dead Whale” by Spencer Nitkey
- “The Clockwork Sisters” by L.M. Guay
- “Dissection of a Mermaid” by Wailana Kalama
- “The Trade” by Erin MacNair
- “Vinegar-Gurgle” by Andrew K Hoe
- “The Tub” by Meg Elison
- “To Serve the Emperor” by Damián Neri
- “Final Harvest” by Christine Lucas
The collection is cheap and spooky season has begun! Kick it off with some original creeps.
