Cover Reveal: Foundling Fathers

All my books so far have been about murder and violence. Abandoned children, assaulted women, writers locked in the basement… it’s such a cool change of pace to have a funny book with a fun cover!

Adams, Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin are raised together on an island off the coast of Delaware. They believe it’s the year 1750 until Franklin finds an iPhone in the bathroom.

Foundling Fathers is a satire about America and the way we receive American history as kids. It’s about the myth of the founding fathers and how I picked them up through their letters and their biographies, through Hamilton and 1776, through cartoons and the Hall of Presidents. It’s about the impulse to go back to some imagined Golden Age, to find the future in the past.

I am thrilled to share the cover with you today. It’s by Elizabeth Story, who does all the Tachyon Publications books and knocked it out of the park on this one. It’s Postcards from the Edge in a powdered wig. It’s revolutionaries for the rebrand. It’s a future so bright that we’ve got to wear shades.
